This role will suit you if…
- you’re looking for a flexible volunteering opportunity, where you’ll be able to help in your local area across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland or online.
- you’re over 18 years of age and you’re looking to volunteer on a monthly basis. You’ll be committing 1-2 hours to raise awareness of Asthma + Lung UK and our work promoting lung health in your local community and within your network.
We welcome applications from people from all areas of community, who enjoy connecting with others and have a drive towards improving lung health.
How will you help?
As an Ambassador volunteer you might visit a local support group and work alongside the group leader to raise awareness and bring in new members; build links with neighbourhood groups, faith organisations and grassroots charities; or represent the voice of lung health patients on local Integrated Care Boards, raising awareness of the charity and enabling collaboration. You could also make positive difference by sharing our petitions online or supporting our campaigns inspiring people to get involved with what we do. The hours are flexible depending on your availability and you can choose to focus on raising awareness online, with local communities, health providers or schools.
What you'll get out of it?
By getting involved you will help to address local health inequalities in your area while using and developing your communication and networking skills and experience. We will provide volunteer induction and role specific training, branded resources, a direct team contact, and we’ll refund all reasonable out-of-pocket expenses incurred while volunteering. Please note that if you decide to raise awareness in schools and a DBS check will be required, we can support you with the process and any incurred costs for this.
