Support group volunteer (in-person or online)

This role will suit you if…

• you’re looking for a regular volunteering opportunity, where you’ll be able to help in your local area across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland or online.
• you’re over 18 years of age and you’re looking to volunteer on a monthly basis. You’ll be committing 3-4 hours each month to help run or start a peer support group for people living with lung conditions.  

We welcome applications from people from all areas of community, who enjoy connecting with others through peer learning and lived experience. Whatever your background and experience, we’d love to hear from you. 

How will you help?

If you’re passionate about providing support and information for people affected by a lung condition either face to face or online, this role might be just what you’re looking for.

This is an opportunity to help increase local support for people living with a lung condition, their families and friends, and raise awareness of the work that Asthma + Lung UK are doing. 

Our support groups volunteers run monthly meetings. The hours are flexible and will vary depending on the volunteer’s availability to setting up the group, organising speakers and other resources. You will be creating a safe, inclusive environment where people can come together, share information about local resources and learn how to live well with a lung condition.

You’ll join a friendly community where you get to meet and connect with other volunteers and staff from Asthma + Lung UK. We provide volunteer induction training, resources, a team member contact to support you on your volunteering journey, we’ll refund all reasonable out-of-pocket expenses incurred while volunteering.
