Asthma 101: Sessions for people newly diagnosed with asthma

Are you newly diagnosed with asthma? Our online session is led by a registered nurse experienced in respiratory care, for you to share experiences, support and information  

You don’t have to manage your lung condition alone. Our intro to asthma online session is here to help you understand and manage your asthma.

Who should attend?

•    Anyone recently diagnosed with asthma.
•    People who want a refresher on inhaler technique or how to manage daily symptoms.
•    Family members who want to better support someone with asthma.

What to expect in this session

•    A 60 minute session led by a registered nurse experienced in respiratory care.
•    A plain-language presentation with easy visuals.
•    A 15 minute live Q+A where you can ask the nurse your questions.
•    A supportive, non-judgemental tone; we welcome every question.
•    A safe space for you to share experiences who others who understand what you are going through.

When?

This session is repeated every other month on the first Wednesday at 2pm over Zoom

The next session date will be on Wednesday 1st April at 2pm and will cover background to asthma, how it is diagnosed and managed. It will explain a variety of different treatment regimes and look at inhaler techniques, asthma management plans and what is severe asthma.
