This role will suit you if…
- you’re looking for a community-based opportunity, meaning you’ll be able to help in your local area across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.
- you’re over 18 years of age and you’re looking to volunteer on a short-term or one-off basis. You’ll be committing 2-4 hours to support a single event or run a local activity.
We welcome applications from people from all areas of community, who enjoy helping others and have a passion for improving lung health. Please note that this role might occasionally involve some outdoors activity, as well as walking and standing to run the information stall.
How will you help?
Community representatives volunteer at local awareness stalls and events. This is a great role if you want to make a difference but aren't sure how much time you have or if you would like to try volunteering before committing on a regular basis. You’ll attend activities in your local region, like running an information stall at a community event, chatting with the public, sharing information, handing out leaflets and pointing people towards our helpline, support groups and health advice resources.
What you'll get out of it?
You'll have the chance to help people living with lung conditions in your local area while also using and developing your interpersonal skills and experience. We provide a volunteer briefing before each event, branded resources and a team member contact to support you. We’ll also refund all reasonable out-of-pocket expenses incurred while volunteering. You’ll have the chance to register for other volunteering opportunities available in your area.
If you’d like a similar role but with more regular or diverse activities, please also check out our Ambassador volunteer opportunity.
