Asthma + Lung UK printed health advice resources
Like many charities, we are facing rising costs and our budget for printing and distributing health advice resources is currently significantly reduced. As a result, we have stopped delivering free printed resources to healthcare professionals and people with lung conditions. We understand that this change has caused frustration, and we are sorry that we can no longer afford to run this service as we did in the past.
We are currently planning a large-scale insights piece with healthcare professionals. This phase is likely to last across summer, but at this stage we can’t provide a definite timeline for when a new service will be launched. This will very much depend on what we learn from the insights and what the service needs to look like to meet the needs of the audience. We will continue to provide updates here as we progress through the project.
While we work on launching the new print service, you can still access our booklets and leaflets in several ways:
- Download and print:
You can download our resources and print copies yourself using a desktop printer. We have made all our resources easier to print and they now use up less printer ink. - Digital copies:
All resources are available as digital downloads. - Our website:
All our health information and advice is always available on our website. - Ardens, SystmOne, or EMIS:
You can find our full range of asthma action plans, and our COPD and Bronchiectasis self-management plans, available to download from Ardens, SystmOne or EMIS. Healthcare professionals can complete plans with patients, upload them to their records, and email or print them. We are also working to make our Pulmonary fibrosis resources available in Ardens soon.
Excluded communities
We know that printed information booklets and leaflets are especially important for overlooked and excluded communities. We are actively exploring ways to ensure that the most vital items remain available for free or at a subsidised rate to these groups.
