No family should have to struggle without support

Jodie's story
Jodie’s twins, Lennie and Maddie – who were just eight weeks old, contracted RSV around this time of year. RSV is a common winter infection that can cause bronchiolitis and pneumonia in babies and older adults. In severe cases, babies end up in urgent care, unable to breathe.
On day three, Lennie stopped breathing and had to be rushed to hospital where they managed to stabilise him.
RSV is highly contagious – and as soon as Lennie was stable, Maddie needed to be admitted to hospital right away. Four days later, Maddie suffered a collapsed lung.
Thankfully, Lennie and Maddie made a full recovery – and Jodie is looking forward to spending Christmas with her family.
I dread to think of a family caring for a child or relative with a lung condition not being able to access the support they need. It’s so vital that we work to raise awareness and keep the Asthma + Lung UK Helpline running for everyone who needs it.
