Clean Air Champions

We want schools across the UK to understand more about their air quality.

Supported by the Bupa Foundation.

Over this academic year, we’re working work with 200 schools across the UK, to empower pupils to understand more about air quality and lung health and create change in their communities.

Our national programme, offers schools free air pollution monitors, as well as a range of resources linked to the curriculum. Teachers also have the opportunity to join our online network of schools taking part in the programme, to share ideas and have access to tailored support.

School webinars coming soon

Sign up to our next webinar to hear from our respiratory specialist nurse Deborah all about how to recognise and manage asthma attacks in school.

Tuesday 3rd June | 9.30am-10.00am

Our final webinar in this series will be looking at how schools can prepare for the new academic year, including an introduction to Asthma Action Plans, something all children with asthma should have.

Tuesday 8th July | 9.30am-10.00am

Received your air quality data and need help with next steps?

We offer virtual and in-person workshops to support your school in being a Clean Air Champion.

We can also help your school become Asthma Fit with sessions for staff and parents.

Latest updates: Knowsley students stand up to pollution

Students in Knowsley have taken a stand against air pollution. Using our free learning resources, they learnt about the types and causes of outdoor air pollution and their health implications. Students then selected sites across the school grounds to monitor nitrogen dioxide levels and made pledges about what steps they will be taking to improve air pollution.

Latest updates: Northampton pupils love their lungs

The Year 2 class showed off their knowledge about air pollution and lung health during our latest workshop. They created posters about keeping their lungs healthy, including eating well, exercising and reducing pollution with their family.

Their teacher also demonstrated the good work in place to support their students and staff with asthma, and we were able to support the school with pledging their next steps after receiving their air quality data.
