Pushing for better research into lung conditions

Find out how Asthma + Lung UK is shaping the future of lung health through a bold research strategy, national collaboration, and long-term goals to transform diagnosis, prevention and treatment of lung conditions.

Lung Research Grand Challenges

Respiratory research has been chronically underfunded for years. By working with the research community alongside funders and other partners we're working hard to ensure respiratory research gets the attention it deserves. Over the next 10 years we're focusing on three ambitious goals. These are:

Diagnosis

Halve the number of people living with undiagnosed lung conditions so they can live longer healthier lives.

Prevention

Reduce the number of people with preventable lung diseases and halve avoidable hospital admissions.

Treatment

Discover cures for lung diseases and new treatments to significantly reduce symptoms.
