Strength exercises

Strengthening (resistance) exercises help you develop stronger muscles. In this video, we show you some strengthening exercises you can do at home.

Geoff, Yvonne, and Mick do exercises to strengthen their muscles. Julie reminds them to use breathing techniques.

They repeat each exercise 10 times – that’s one set. Depending on their fitness level, they do 1, 2 or 3 sets. Some of the exercises use weights or resistance bands. This video is 33 minutes and 20 seconds long.

  • Level 1: For people who get short of breath during activities like showering and dressing and moving around their home.

  • Level 3: For people who feel short of breath after doing high energy activities like walking up hills and carrying heavy food shopping.
